• Škoda has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the new all-electric Epiq, with the compact SUV set to start from £24,950 when order books open in July 2026

Positioned as the brand’s most affordable EV to date, the Epiq achieves price parity with the petrol-powered Škoda Kamiq and marks Škoda’s entry into the entry-level electric SUV segment

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s new MEB+ platform, the Epiq is also the first fully electric Škoda with front-wheel drive. Buyers will be able to choose between two trim levels, SE L and Edition, alongside a launch-spec First Edition model

Two battery options will be available. The Epiq 40 features a 37kWh battery with an estimated range of around 190 miles, while the Epiq 55 uses a larger 52kWh pack delivering up to 272 miles of WLTP range. Both versions support rapid charging from 10 to 80 per cent in under 25 minutes, with the larger battery capable of charging speeds up to 105kW

Despite its compact dimensions, the Epiq offers a 475-litre boot and an additional 25-litre front storage compartment. Inside, a 13-inch infotainment display, digital cockpit and wireless smartphone connectivity come as standard, alongside a range of sustainable interior materials

The Epiq also introduces new design elements for future Škoda SUVs, including a T-shaped lighting signature and the brand’s gloss black “Tech-Deck Face” front end

Standard safety equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane assist, side assist and traffic sign recognition, while higher-spec models add upgraded interior finishes and larger alloy wheels

Orders for the new all-electric Epiq will open in the UK in July 2026.

  • Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the new all-electric GT 4-Door Coupé, introducing a 1,169hp tri-motor performance flagship built on its new AMG.EA electric platform

Designed to redefine electric performance cars, the four-door sports car combines three axial flux electric motors with an 800-volt battery system inspired by Formula 1 technology. Two versions will be offered from launch: the GT 55 4-Door Coupé with 816hp and the range-topping GT 63 4-Door Coupé producing up to 1,169hp

The flagship model can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 2.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 186mph with the optional Driver’s Package

Mercedes-AMG says the new battery technology enables sustained high-performance driving as well as ultra-fast charging. Using compatible 600kW charging infrastructure, the GT 4-Door Coupé can recover more than 460 kilometres of WLTP range in just 10 minutes, with a 10 to 80 per cent charge taking around 11 minutes

A key feature of the new model is its use of axial flux motors developed by YASA, a British engineering company owned by Mercedes-Benz. AMG says the compact motors provide significantly greater continuous power and torque than conventional EV motors

Despite its electric drivetrain, AMG has also attempted to recreate the emotional feel of a traditional V8-powered performance car. The new AMGFORCE S+ mode introduces simulated gearshifts, synthetic V8 sound effects and haptic feedback designed to mimic the experience of driving a combustion-engined AMG model.

Production of the new GT 4-Door Coupé will begin in summer 2026 at Mercedes-Benz’s plant in Sindelfingen. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, though Mercedes-AMG says it will align closely with the outgoing model range.
