• The New Vauxhall Frontera has gone on sale this week.

The new Frontera is the first car in the UK to offer list price parity between its Petrol and Electric versions, with both starting from £23,495

Vauxhall state the New Frontera is not a Crossland replacement and is “a genuine family sized C SUV”, which completes the new Vauxhall SUV line up, joining New Mokka and New Grandland offering our customer’s a wide range of new SUV models to choose from to suit every need.

The New Frontera launches with a choice of two energy version, Electric or Hybrid.  The Electric battery is 44kWh with an efficient 113ps electric motor. It has a range of up to 186 miles. Frontera Electric offers quiet, zero-emissions driving for the same price as the Hybrid version.  Rapid charging to 80% will take 26 minutes, with a range of driving modes available.

A longer-range battery will be available later in 2025, capable of up to 248 miles on a single charge.

There are two Hybrid powertrains available, one with a 100PS engine or a 136PS engine. Both engines have a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.  The 48V electric motor allows zero emissions driving for short distances in stop start traffic.  As the car decelerates from higher speeds, the petrol engine stops and the e-motor re-charges the 48V battery.  In addition, customers can expect improved fuel economy and CO2 emissions compared to a traditional petrol engine.  Both engines also benefit from a chain belt.
